RSC (Regular Slotted Container)
This is the most common and standard style container. When folded, the two outer flaps meet at the center of the box and can be taped, glued or stapled to close. This type of box is made by one corrugated board, thus there is very little manufacturing waste. The RSC is a highly efficient design for many applications. As in all containers, the bursting test of the corrugated board can be calibrated to carry and protect the size and weight of the contents. Partitions can also be used to reinforce the strength of box.
FOL (Full Overlap Slotted Container or Full Overlap Container)
All flaps have the same length, equal to the width of the box. When closed, the outer flaps come within one inch of complete overlap. Stacked on its bottom panel, the overlapping flaps provide added cushioning. Stacked on its side, the extra thickness provides excellent stacking strength. Good for heavy objects and very resistance to rough handling.
HSC (Half Slotted Container with Cover)
This is a variation of the RSC box with one set of flaps only. The HSC consists of flaps on one end, and open on the other. An thickness of fiberboard at sides and ends afford maximum protection of contents and superior stacking strength. This style with a lid is a combination of a shipping carton, opening to a shelf storage unit. This is especially suited when the cover is to be removed repeatedly for access or display purposes. Commonly used for batteries, refrigerator, washing machines, ect.
PTHS (Half Slotted Box with Half Slotted Partial Cover)
Similar to HSC, the PTHS consists of flaps on one end and open on the other where the two ends are slotted style. Good resistance for bulging and bulking. Sometimes the manufacturer intends to use this type of box for over-packed and it can bear the heavy load very well.
FPF (Five Panel Foder)
The FPF, a very economical and easy to use package, is a single cut. Scored and slotted with a fifth panel used as the closing flap at the packing line. Box has no manufacturer’s joint. It is especially suited
to long flat objects, then sealed on each end and one side FOL flaps provide excellent puncture resistance and stacking strength.
Partitions and Pads
Inner packaging pieces are used to separate, cushion, suspend and fill irregular spaces within a container. The Pad is a single corrugated sheet, and can be supplied to your specifications. These can
be used as a divider between items and layers of product to add protection to products when transporting. The Partition is made of intersecting sheets of corrugated board, that when formed, create individual pockets to separate goods within a carton. These are especially suited to fragile items (glass bottles, jars, etc) When formed, the partition will give extra support and rigidity to the carton.
